Continuing
Education (CE) Credit
The Appraisal Institute online seminars can
be used strictly for continuing education credit (where approved),
and NOT for qualifying (pre-licensing) education, unless otherwise
specified.
Provided that a student has met all of the
requirements for a seminar, a completion certificate in Portable
Document Format (PDF) will be emailed immediately after completion.
The type of certificate emailed will be based on the address
under which the student has registered. If the student is licensed
in more than one state and requires more than one type of certificate
they can be requested by contacting Online Edcuation.
As with
all continuing education programs, each state must approve
individual seminars for state CE credit. Credit is applied
for in all states that accept online education, as well
as the Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) of the Appraisal
Foundation.
It
is your responsibility to verify that a seminar has been approved
by your state for CE credit. For information concerning the
Appraisal Institute's continuing education activity in your
particular state and with the AQB, you may check the State
Certification information by clicking "Approval" for
the desired class on the online education homepage.
For Appraisal
Institute members, in addition to any state CE credit, seminars
will automatically count for the number of hours of Appraisal
Institute CE credit listed in the
seminar description.Usually
no class may be taken for credit more than once in every cycle.
Appraisal Institute members cannot receive
Appraisal Institute continuing education credit for both the Internet version and the classroom version of a seminar.
In addition, individual states usually do not grant state CE
credit for seminars taken more than once. Check
with your individual state if you have questions.
Distance
learning course work may be Internet-based, through video
or correspondence. Appraisal Institute Online Internet seminars
are automatically accepted for recertification credit for
the Appraisal Institute's own Continuing Education Program.
Non-Appraisal Institute distance learning course work must
be pre-approved before being taken.
Certificates read as follows:
- Successfully completed shall
mean attendance at the course or seminar and passing the examination,
if there is an examination.
- Attended shall mean attendance
at a course or seminar without sitting for the examination
or sitting for the examination without passing it.
- Challenged shall mean passing
the examination without attending the course.
Attendance means attendance in compliance with Appraisal Institute policy (i.e., 100%). (Appraisal Institute members may also use these statements on their qualifications statements.)

About your Privacy
The Appraisal Institute takes all reasonable steps to safeguard the personal information we collect about you during the registration process by using industry standard internet security mechanisms. However, we understand your concerns about personal information.
We request that students provide their name, address, social security number, and appraiser license numbers in order that students who take Appraisal Institute courses are properly given qualifying and/or continuing education credit in a given state.
Different states require different information from students before granting continuing education credit; additionally, states may change the information they require at any time. To ensure that we will be able to provide all the necessary information for a given state, the Appraisal Institute requests all the above-mentioned information.
Students are not required to provide any or all of the information requested. However, if a student “opts out” of providing this information, the student must clearly understand that he or she may not be given continuing education credit in a given state, depending on that state’s requirements.
If you wish to opt-out of providing the information requested, please contact Online Education.
